Canyon Ice Skating Event

We held our ice skating event on February 4th, 2011 at Orange County Ice Palace from 8:15-9:45! This was a joint event with another club called CASC who asked us if we wanted to join, so we accepted to offer. We each got half of the profit. One of the CASC members called the manager at Ice Palace and scheduled a fundraising event. The manager told us that we could have 50% of what they made during that time slot. Our club's job was to promote, so we went on the morning announcements, created posters, created facebook events, and spread the whereabouts of the event through word of mouth. On the day of the ice skating event, 62 people showed up, and we ended up raising $383.50! It was a success. All the people at the rink told us that they really enjoyed the time and suggested that we have another one soon. It was a great experience and definitely a great fundraising idea.” - Michelle Kwon, Canyon High School

Canyon High School Halloween Event!

Over Halloween, Team HBV at Canyon High School implemented a creative method of getting the word out about hepatitis B. Check out what Michelle, their president, had to say below:

"For this event, we told our club members to pass out flyers about hepatitis B while trick-o-treating. We received flyers from Kaiser Hospital that listed all of the different facts that individuals must know in order to prevent hepatitis B. Seven people plus board members participated, and each participant was able to pass out all the flyers that were given to them. We also gave our members petition sheets so that the people who received the hepatitis B information sheets would sign it in order to prove that they have received it. Whoever received the most signatures would get free In-n-Out!"
